Ascendant Audio, LLC was founded in 2005 by Christopher Bocast and Hallie Lieberman to produce classic and spiritual audiobooks in CD and MP3 formats. Our audiobooks first hit the market in 2006 in digital download format on Audible.com & iTunes.com and in CD format through Amazon. In 2007, we began digital distribution through Overdrive, a library download service that is available in 7,500 libraries all over the world. In the past year we have begun distributing our CD versions of the audiobooks through brick and mortar stores in the Colorado Springs area. Currently, we are carried by Agia Sophia, All Things Catholic, Aquinas and More, The Guardian Angel Bookstore, and Celebrations bookstore. This fall, New City Press is making our Confessions of Saint Augustine audiobook one of its featured products in its catalog.
Our audiobooks are unique in several ways. Our narrators have been chosen for their outstanding voices and experience in the radio and film worlds. Our packaging has been designed with a classic style, featuring exclusive artwork. Each audiobook looks like a miniature book to draw in first-time audiobook listeners. Most importantly, our titles are chosen with an eye on classics; books that sell consistently over the long term. Our audiobooks feature original music that adds to the listener’s enjoyment. We are particularly focusing on classics of a spiritual nature. Even though we have premium packaging, excellent narrators, original music, and superb audio production values, we have managed to keep an affordable price point.
